The bye week did the Midlothian Heritage Jaguars and their rushing legs good.
Behind three 100-yard rushers, Heritage routed Quinlan Ford, 51-13, to begin District 9-4A action on Thursday at Midlothian ISD Stadium.
The Jaguars 657 total yards of offense more than doubled the 305 yards amassed by the Panthers and they did it on 23 fewer plays (42-65).
To take the dominance to another level, Heritage rushed 29 times for a whopping 505 yards for an astounding 17.4 yards per carry.
Latray Miller led the Heritage rushing attack with seven carries for 137 yards and one touchdown. Cedric West (8-121, TD) and Cullen Stone (6-109, TD) also crossed the 100-yard plateau, while Daelin Rader just missed the triple-digit club with three carries for 90 yards and a score.
Heritage quarterback Cade Sumbler completed 8-of-his-12 passes for 152 yards and three touchdowns to one interception.
Jay Wilkerson (1-50), Cullen Stone (2-37) and Radler (1-9) each caught a Sumbler touchdown pass. Haydon Wiginton led the Heritage receiving corps with four grabs for 56 yards.
The Jaguars were also not flagged for a penalty during the win.
UP NEXT
Heritage evened its season record to 3-3 overall with the win and, more importantly, begins 1-0 in 8-4A play.
The Jaguars will face (4-1, 0-0) Athens at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18 on the Hornets home field. Athens is led by former-Waxahachie offensive coordinator Zach Harrell.
