Waxahachie led 14-6 at the half against host Arlington Lamar at Cravens Field. The Tribe defense forced four first-half turnovers and the lead held into the fourth quarter.

The Midlothian Panther defense flexed on the visiting Ennis Lions in a dialed-down version of a US Highway 287 battle on Thursday.
Midlothian held the visiting Lion offense to 197 total yards at Midlothian ISD Multipurpose Stadium to pick up the Panthers’ first win. The (1-1) Midlothian offense, meanwhile, was fueled by two passing touchdowns in the convincing 32-17 victory.

The Athens Hornets led Life Waxahachie 28-12 at the half at Bruce Field in Athens.

The Sanger Indians led Ferris 13-7 at the half Friday at Yellow Jacket Stadium.
Ferris dropped its season opener to Lake Worth, 61-34, while Sanger lost to Benbrook, 49-27.

Palmer led the Grand Saline Indians, 15-7, on Friday at the half at Bulldog Stadium.
The Bulldogs soundly defeated Venus 47-26 to open the season. Grand Saline fell to Lubbock Cooper 31-14.
(0-2) Eustace 7, (2-0) Maypearl 62 — FINAL
The Maypearl Panthers led the Eustace Bulldogs 50-0 at the half in their home opener on Friday at Roesler Stadium.
Maypearl defeated Fort Worth Western Hills 40-8 to open the season on the road last week. The Bulldogs were shut out by Farmersville 53-0 in week one.
(0-2) Italy 14, (2-0) Chilton 20 — FINAL
Chilton led Italy 14-7 at the half at Featherston Field.
The Pirates won 28-27 in each of the past two seasons. Italy won 46-0 in 2020. Chilton defeated Bosqueville 34-0 in week one.

Avalon trailed the Bynum Bulldogs 38-0 with 6:19 to play in the third quarter at Bulldog Field on Friday.
Avalon fell to Methodist Children’s Home, 58-33, in week one. Bynum defeated Cranfills Gap 62-14 to open the season.

The visiting Aquilla Cougars led Milford 50-42 with 3:01 to play in the first half at Horton Field on Friday.
Aquilla defeated Covington 73-28 in week one, while Milford shutout Keene 57-0.

Greenville Christian fell 62-14 to Dallas Lutheran in week one. On the flipside, Ovilla Christian defeated Holy Trinity Catholic 48-0 in the Eagles’ return to 6-man football
