Write it in stone: The Avalon Eagles will be in the postseason.
The Avalon Eagles are once again under the guidance of head coach Malcolm Cole and will look to improve upon a 5-4 recond in 2018.
The return of eight starters — four on each side of the football — certainly bodes well for the Eagles, too.
The Avalon offense is led by four-year starter Miguel Padron following his junior campaign that needed 608 rushing yards with 11 touchdowns and another 764 yards through the air with 13 scores. Dual-sport athlete Rhett Newton also returns for the Eagles. He accounted for 543 yards and six touchdowns on the ground in 2018, while also adding 631 yards and 10 touchdowns behind the center.
