Seven Waxahachie student-athletes recently signed a National Letter of Intent to continue their playing careers during the NCAA early signing period.
The ceremonial signings took place in front of friends, family, teammates and coaches on Wednesday, Nov. 13 inside the Performing Arts Center on the campus of Waxahachie High School.
Those student-athletes included:
Lacey Mott — volleyball — Southwestern Oklahoma State University
Ragan Ward — volleyball — Northwestern State University
Baylee Whitehead — volleyball — Dallas Baptist University
Aaron Tesei — baseball — University of Central Arkansas
Campbell Sullivan — baseball – Dallas Baptist University
Raquel Acosta said she plans to major in biology at TAMU-Texarkana.

Lacy Mott said she chose Southwestern Oklahoma State University because she was impressed by the “atmosphere and coaching staff. It was just a really nice place.”
On why she chose Tarleton State, Hope David said, “I just loved the campus and it was a real homey town. I liked it there.”
Campbell Sullivan said he chose DBU because, “I love the campus, I love the coaches and it’s just a beautiful atmosphere up there with a really good baseball program.”
Bailey “Boo” Whitehead said she chose DBU because she has “always loved the school and it’s close to home. And I’ve always loved the volleyball team.”
Ragan Ward said it was the coaching staff that influenced her decision to sign with Northwestern State in Natchitoches, Louisiana. “I love the coaches,” Ward added. “They are super nice and supportive.”
