GALLERY: Midlothian football uses big first half to defeat Ennis

Three first-half touchdowns and a stout defensive effort fueled the Midlothian Panthers over Ennis in a 28-10 non-district win on Sept. 2.

Midlothian quarterback Chad Ragle rushed for a game-high 130 yards and one touchdown on 19 carries. He also completed 4-of-his-7 passes for 50 yards.

Junior running back Michael Garger added 14 carries for 106 yards. Senior Deago Benson (10-63) and junior Drew Wendel (3-4) added the other two Panther touchdowns.

Ennis quarterback Jackson Gilkey completed 19-of-his-28 passes for 194 yards. Jamarion Wafford scored the lone Lion touchdown on one of his three carries for 59 yards.

Midlothian ultimately outgained Ennis 442 total yards to 406.

Roman Parham picked off a Gilkey pass, while Cole Martin, Parham and Kade Tompkins each recovered an Ennis fumble.

Jack Sutton recovered a pair of Midlothian fumbles.

The win improved Midlothian to 2-0, while Ennis fell to 0-2.
