The Waxahachie Indian soccer team capped its pre-district slate with a victory Friday night against Life Oak Cliff.

Emmanuel Nwokonko first scored on a JP Lopez assist and Landon Gilmore followed unassisted for the 2-nil Waxahachie win at Stuart B. Lumpkins Stadium.

The victory improved the Indians to 8-2 on the season and sends the squad into a Friday tilt against Mansfield Lake Ridge that will open District 7-6A play. That match is slated for 7:30 p.m. at Lake Ridge High School in Mansfield.
