KBEC Sports announces 2019 All-Ellis County volleyball teams

KBEC Sports report

Year in and year out, Ellis County is blessed with a plethora of volleyball talent and this season was no different.

The 2019 season saw Ovilla Christian win its second consecutive TAPPS 2A state championship, Red Oak, Midlothian and Midlothian Heritage reach their respective regional tournaments and several other teams make postseason runs.

When the dust settled and we all had a little time to breathe and reflect, the team at KBEC Sports compiled the 2019 KBEC Sports All-Ellis County volleyball teams — featuring superlative honors for Player, Offensive, Defensive, Coach, Newcomer and Team of the Year, as well as first- and second-team honors and over 40 honorable mentions.

The two teams are broken down into one middle blocker, setter, libero, utility player and two outside hitters.

Superlative honors will first be announced live on-air during the KBEC Sports weekly sports-talk show, “The Press Box,” on Monday, Dec. 9. The show airs from 6-7 p.m. Those names will then be added to this article post-show.

All honorees were selected based on postseason accolades, team success, input from coaches across Ellis County and firsthand observations by the KBEC Sports team. In total, 56 student-athletes were honored.

Each student-athlete will be presented with a commemorative All-Ellis County certificate. Framed awards for the All-Ellis County volleyball team honorees. The individual superlative recipients will receive a commemorative bobblehead award.

Without further ado, congratulations to the 2019 KBEC Sports All-Ellis County volleyball honorees!
