Life Waxahachie’s Veasley named KBEC Sports Player of the Week

For the first time in five weeks, a student-athlete lapped the field in the KBEC Sports Player of the Week poll.

Life Waxahachie running back SirMichael Veasely received 6,739 of the 12,249 votes (55.02%) during the week five voting period.

Veasley rushed 11 times for 194 yards and four touchdowns Friday night during a 56-14 victory against Farmersville. As a team, the Mustangs racked up 417 rushing yards in the homecoming win.

Veasley will be presented with a commemorative KBEC Sports Player of the Week certificate at a date to be announced.

Waxahachie wide receiver BJ Hawkins (3,288 votes, 26.84%), Ferris running back Jeremiah Harrison (2,203 votes, 17.99%) and Avalon quarterback Miguel Padron (19 votes, 0.16%) also received votes in the week five KBEC Sports Player of the Week poll.
