Big plays and an even bigger second quarter propelled the Life Waxahachie Mustangs past Nevada Community on Friday.

The Mustangs compiled 386 total yards of offense and scored the first seven touchdowns of the game in the 48-7 non-district home win. The victory improved the Mustangs to 3-1 on the season.

Life Waxahachie running back Christian May got the scoring party started with a 67-yard touchdown run on the first play of the Mustangs second possession. His scamper to paydirt with 4:40 on the clock in the first quarter was the first of three on the evening for May, who finished the game with eight carries for 105 yards and three touchdowns.

Mayfield then added a 63-yard touchdown run on the first play of the second half after the Mustangs recovered an onside kick.

The final Life Waxahachie score came when Oder connected with Tony Evans for a 12-yard score to cap a four-play, 24-yard drive.
