Pendleton leads No. 1 Milford to road win in top-5 showdown

Ricky Pendleton and the top-ranked Milford offense outlasted No. 4 Oakwood in a barn-burner Friday night. 

The Bulldogs carried a 60-24 lead into the halftime locker room but were outscored in the second half (30-16) of their 76-54 road win. 

Pendleton accounted for 450 of the Bulldogs 585 total yards (76.9%) in the win. The senior completed 6-of-his-9 passes for 253 yards and four touchdowns, while also adding nine carries for 197 yards and three scores. He also had 110 yards in kick returns, posting a long of 65 yards 

Damyan Woodward pulled in two of those Pendleton passes on receptions of 70 and 60 yards, respectively. Jasean Brooks (2-57), Jaylon Davis (2-30) and Tyvon Gates (1-65) all caught one touchdown pass, each. 

Gates (5-67), Woodward (2-23) and Brooks (1-5) also scored rushing touchdowns. 

Brooks led the Bulldogs defensive efforts with a game-high 16 tackles, while Woodward and Ka’charo Cook each had 12 total tackles and Pendleton recorded 12. 

The No. 1 Milford Bulldogs will face Lone Star North, out of Gainsville, at 7 p.m. Friday.
