The Press Box: 6 state titles with Sam Harrell and Ovilla volleyball: Nov. 23, 2020

On this week’s airing of The Press Box on KBEC 1390AM/99.1FM, hosts Seth Sims and Travis Smith first spoke with hall-of-fame head football coach Sam Harrell about the Ennis Lions’ perfect season and who’d win a game between him and a young coach at USC (hint: Not Graham).

The two then celebrated Ovilla Christian volleyball’s third-consecutive TAPPS state championship with head coach Kallye Johnson and senior standouts Tessa Henry and Audrey Nunes.

The show wrapped up with a season preview of Ferris Lady Yellowjackets basketball, featuring head coach Mandie West, junior Lili Garcia and sophomore Rylee Yarborough.

The Press Box airs weekly on Monday from 6-7 p.m. on KBEC 1390AM/99.1FM, as well as on KBEC.com, sports.KBEC.com and on the KBEC app available in both the Google Play and Apple app stores. The show features recaps of the week that was, interviews with coaches and KBEC Sports Players of the Week, as well as special guests and previews for the week ahead.

The Press Box is presented by Dr. Roux and McSpadden with Waxahachie Orthopedics, FBM Construction and the Stevens Team with Legacy Realty Group.
