Press Box: Kobe’s legacy on Ellis County hoops: Ep. 13 (Jan. 27, 2020)

This week’s episode of “The Press Box” focused on Kobe Bryant and his impact on the local basketball culture. The show featured live on-air interviews with the head coaches and standout players from the Ferris and Midlothian High boys’ basketball teams.

On-air hosts Seth Sims and Brian Stevens first spoke with Ferris guard Demarcus Rankin and head coach Jerrel Chumley. They then spoke with Midlothian senior forward Nyk Madison — fresh off of scoring his 1,000th career point — and head coach Steven Middleton.

The Press Box airs weekly on Monday from 6-7 p.m. on KBEC 1390AM/99.1FM, as well as on KBEC.com, sports.KBEC.com and on the KBEC app available in both the Google Play and Apple app stores. The show features recaps of the week that was, interviews with coaches and KBEC Sports Players of the Week, as well as special guests and previews for the week ahead.

The Press Box is presented by Dr. Roux and McSpadden with Waxahachie Orthopedics, FBM Construction and the Stevens Team with Legacy Realty Group.
