The Press Box: Dealing with the Corona Virus: Ep. 20 (March 16, 2020)

This week’s episode of “The Press Box” focused on the effects of the COVID-19 virus and its impact on high school and college athletics.

On-air hosts Seth Sims and “The Voice of the Panthers” Tater Beard, who filled in for Brian Stevens, first with Luke Morton, a Waxahachie graduate and current senior baseball player at Tarleton State University.

Sims and Beard then spoke with Waxahachie head girls’ soccer coach Jason Venable about the program and his advice for soccer players during the down period. The tandem followed by discussing at-home workouts and fitness advice with Waxahachie ISD Director of Sports Medicine EJ Hairston. 

The Press Box airs weekly on Monday from 6-7 p.m. on KBEC 1390AM/99.1FM, as well as on KBEC.com, sports.KBEC.com and on the KBEC app available in both the Google Play and Apple app stores. The show features recaps of the week that was, interviews with coaches and KBEC Sports Players of the Week, as well as special guests and previews for the week ahead.
