The Press Box: Maypearl baseball and senior salutes: Ep. 25 (April 20, 2020)

This week’s episode of “The Press Box” featured an in-depth conversation with three members of the (11-1-1) Maypearl Panthers baseball team after their season was cut short due to COVID-19.

The link to the podcast can be found at the bottom of this article.

On-air hosts Seth Sims, Tater Beard and Brian Stevens first spoke at length with Maypearl head baseball coach Mike Martin and seniors Angel Pinter and Mason New. The group talked about their shortened season (and how well it was going), the passing of former head coach Brian Bilbrey and his influence on the program, and plans for 2021.

The trio then spoke with coaches Lyle Linscomb (Life Waxahachie track and field), Joey Foster (Midlothian track and field) and Tony Le (Midlothian Heritage tennis). Each coach was afforded an opportunity to “shoutout” their senior student-athletes.

The Press Box airs weekly on Monday from 6-7 p.m. on KBEC 1390AM/99.1FM, as well as on KBEC.com, sports.KBEC.com and on the KBEC app available in both the Google Play and Apple app stores. The show features recaps of the week that was, interviews with coaches and KBEC Sports Players of the Week, as well as special guests and previews for the week ahead.

The Press Box is presented by Dr. Roux and McSpadden with Waxahachie Orthopedics, FBM Construction and the Stevens Team with Legacy Realty Group.
